History

In June 1973 ten men decided to start a club. The “Hoppers Crossing Citizens Club” began with a Dinner Dance with 150 people attending. Various sporting clubs were formed and land sourced to build a club house. The first Club House was built and the Club has continued to go from strength to strength with some committee foundation members still holding roles in the Club.

Since the Club began in 1973, the Club has been awarded a variety of awards including:

  • 2007 Clubs Victoria - Victorian Club of the year
  • 2007 Clubs Victoria - Club Manager of the year (Jay Mitchell)
  • 2005 Clubs Victoria - Social Club of the year
  • 2005 Club Managers Association of Australia (Victoria) - Tabaret Club Manager of the year (Jay Mitchell)
  • 2005 Club Managers Association of Australia (Victoria) - Club Manager of the year (Jay Mitchell)
  • 2004 Clubs Victoria - Club person of the year (Ron Eggleton)
  • 2004 Clubs Victoria - Club Manager of the year (Jay Mitchell)
  • 1997 Licensed Clubs Association of Victoria - Victorian Club of the year

The club exists as a not for profit organisation catering for many groups within the community. The club accommodates for member and non members alike providing a quality venue where there is always something happening.

 

The Mission Statement of The Hoppers Club

 

To develop orderly and ongoing programs to:

  • Support and promote existing sporting, community and social activities under the umbrella of the Hoppers Crossing Club Ltd.
  • Develop and promote the Club as an asset to the community
  • Protect and ensure the long term viability of the club through sound management techniques, continual financial consolidation through forward planning and use of technological advances to maintain the members interests and investment.
